MAY 2010:
Acting Up! in association with Belfast Children's Festival, Cork County Library and Arts Services and Cork CAHP (HSE) present Ivica Simic's Story About The Cloud, a puppet show for 2-4 years. The Ballincollig library will host 2 performances on Saturday 29th May at 11am and 2pm.Ivica will also lead a workshop on puppeteering with a group from Lightbulb Youth Theatre in Mallow on Sunday 30th in keeping with the early years partnership development in Cork and sustaining Acting Up!'s dedication to linking a performance with a training event whenever possible. This is the first collaboration with the County Arts Office and is an exciting departure into a wider early years arts network for Ireland.
MAY 2010:
White Crystal Company presents Acting Up! director Cliodhna Noonan in Silver Tree - a performance for 0-9 months. Based on the Romanian legend of the Ursitoarea, a fairy who visits new babies and wishes them well on their journey in life, Silver Tree engages very young babies and their carers (who sit under the silver and crystal tree) in 25 minutes of song, movement and blessing in a gentle and relaxing environment. (Photos attached) Silver Tree is performed by Cliodhna Noonan, directed and choreographed by Giovanna Caire and designed by Margarita Smith.
 

MARCH 2010:
Acting Up! director Cliodhna Noonan traveled to Bologna to attend the early years festival at Teatro Testoni.
A team from Cork including Emelie FitzGibbon (Graffiti Theatre) and Barbara O'Meara (Cork College of Commerce) also attended. The festival was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas about early years policy and performance, view early years performances live and participate in training workshops of the highest calibre in the field of early years arts - in all disciplines.

 

OCTOBER 2009:
Acting Up! in association with Graffiti Theatre presented Theater Reflecksion's Songs from Above at Graffiti Theatre Cork. This event was supported by Cork HSE. The performance was followed by a talk session with tutors and students of childcare studies at Cork College of Commerce on the possibilities of artistic engagement with early years children.

 

MAY 2009:
Sticky Fingers Early Years Arts Festival in Newry in association with Graffiti Theatre and Acting Up! presented La Baracca's Looking at the Sky at Graffiti Theatre in Cork. This event was supported by the Irish Arts Council, An Chomhairle Ealaion, Cork City Partnership, Cork City Arts Office, Baboro International Arts Festival for Children and Cork College of Commerce Childcare Department. The performance was followed by a training workshop led by Valeria Frabetti for childcare workers and professional artists. The event was presented as a day-long seminar for those who attended both sessions and was a huge success. Local press also reviewed the event and ran a number of features on the emergence of performing arts for the early years community in Cork.

 

OCTOBER 2008:
Baboro International Arts Festival for Children, Cork College of Commerce Childcare Department and Cork City Arts Office in association with Acting Up! presented La Baracca's The Colours of Water at South Parish Community Centre. Followed by a workshop with Valeria Frabetti for chilcare workers, tutors of childcare and local professional artists. Acting Up! documented the event and produced a brochure and DVD called Rainbow's Gold with the support of the Irish Arts Council, An Chomhairle Ealaion.
